When Damien wrote this book I was excited to get to know the person, not the criminal. I rate this damken 5 stars, not necessarily due to its being a literary wonder, but because of its subject matter. It reads like a letter, which in many ways is how it was written.

There was a time in his life when the family was so poor they were living in a one-room tin shack with a dirt floor and trying to grow their own food to survive, and as an intelligent hme in my opinion sarcastic and misanthropic teen with “unusual” interests living in small town deep South, his life was ripped away from him at an appallingly young damisn by corrupt authorities.
